Thousands of years ago, Ayurveda, the science of life, was cognized in the deep silence of meditation of the ancient Rishis of India. Based on the premise that the individual is a reflection of the whole universe, Ayurveda takes into account all the influences on a person's life, including diet, relationships, work, environment, exercise, likes and dislikes, when recommending a treatment program. But Ayurveda doesn't begin or end with the treatment of illness, its main focus is the prevention of disease and the maintenance of a healthy, vital mind, body and spirit.

The Ayurvedic physician classifies a person's state of health according to the imbalances in his or her Ayurvedic body-type. Depending upon the nature and intensity of the imbalance, the treatment will involve a combination of herbal medicines, oil baths and massages.

The process of Ayurvedic treatment is to first loosen the impurities in the system and then flush them out through one of the channels of elimination. This cleansing of the physiology, known as Panchakarma, rejuvenates the mind and body, allowing it to experience its true potential.

An essential part of any Ayurvedic program is the participation of the patient. Recommendations for ongoing lifestyle practices are an important aspect of any journey into health and happiness.

Kerala has long been a center for the development and practice of Ayurveda. The clear air and natural beauty, creates the perfect environment for renewal. The verdant forests and hills are abundant in herbs and flora, necessary in the preparation of Ayurvedic concoctions. The people of Kerala too, have kept this ancient tradition alive by way of their own lifestyles and the many master Vaidyas or doctors that are found in this area.

Today, the ancient science and practice of Ayurveda is very popular and available at reputed Ayurvedic centers ad spas all over India. Treatments are available both for wellbeing and specific ailments such as arthritis, sinusitis, gastric problems, diabetes, etc.

Effective Ayurvedic programs range from one week to five weeks or more, based on the client’s requirement.
